Our Mission
Alcoholism is a common problem that isn’t given the attention it deserves. Right now, there are people all over the UK struggling with the idea of seeking help for alcohol addiction; that’s where we come in. Alcohol Help offers a free and confidential addiction helpline you can get the support you need.
We set up our helpline in response to the growing numbers of people desperately seeking help for alcoholism. We saw that need and realised the best thing we could do is offer advice, support and referrals. That is exactly what we do.
Our addiction helpline counsellors are available to speak to you or someone you love 24 hours a day. We speak to clients from all walks of life, and advise anyone with a concern, including the person in need, their family members, and concerned friends looking to somehow get involved. All of our contacts remain confidential for your protection.
Alcoholism Is Closer Than You Think
The media may stereotype alcoholism as a choice that effects very few people. However, it’s very serious condition that effects 35 million people worldwide, and impacts families and friends as much as the individual suffering from addiction. Trust us, there are many people out there who understand and are going through the same situation as you, so you are not alone.
Help Is Available
Despite the destructive nature of alcohol dependence, there is help available through outpatient and residential programs. An outpatient program is one offered by an NHS facility or alcohol charity. These programs require visitation for several hours at a time before returning home. Although flexible, group support and safety is limited.
Residential programs take a much more thorough and comprehensive approach. They involve the living at the facility throughout the duration of the program. For 2 to 12 weeks, you will go through a number of different therapies to help you break their addiction and eventually live an alcohol-free life.
